The Baghdad Battery

I remember reading this various books about ancient technology and mysteries of the world. The Baghdad Battery is actually a functioning device. At the World Mysteries site are quite a few references to other ancient technology devices. The ancient battery is estimated to be over 2000 years old. Now why would the ancients need batteries if they did not have advanced technology. Maybe history has just censored or prevented us from knowing that the ancients knew.

As advanced as we are, maybe we are still chasing the technology that the ancients knew and we lost in the last few thousand years. It has taken us a few thousand years just to get back to the state where the ancients were a few thousand years ago.

The Antikythera Computer

This was the ancient Greek computer found by divers in 1900 near Crete. This device has gears and appears to be some form of computer. Here are a few sites that have additional information:

Recent research has still yet to explain what the Antikythera device is. It is estimated to over 2000 years old. The best explanation accepted today is that the device with many gears was designed to calculate the motion of stars and planets.

Vimana

Vimana were ancient flying machines developed by the people of the ancient Atlantis and Rama empire. I first read about the Vimana in the book, "Vimana Aircraft of Ancient India and Atlantis"
by David Hatcher Childress, 1992. The book goes into quite a bit of detail concerning these ancient flying machines. There is quite a bit written about this ancient technology and which at many times sounds like the description of UFOs.

Ancient Chinese Pyramids

Here are a few articles on the web about ancient Chinese pyramids that rival the pyramids in the Americas and Egypt. Many are of unknown origin and the Chinese government has provided very little information about them.

Looking at these published photos, they have a striking resemblance to pyramids in Egypt, Mexico and South America. An American astronaut during the Apollo program has taken pictures from space and even visited these sites in the Quin-Ling Mountains in China's forbidden areas with permission by the Chinese government. One of the pyramids is as big as Egypts Giza Pyramids around 300 feet tall. Very little information is publisehd about the Chinese pyramids. Maybe in the coming decades, the China's government will allow more research and exchange of information.

Ancient City underwater near Okinawa

In 1995, divers off the coast of Okinawa found what appears to be the ruins of an ancient civilization ("Japan's Underwater Ruins") about 40 feet underwater. Almost nothing is known about what, who, when of this civiliation except that it appears to be a lost civilization that spans Europe, Asia and South America. This is such a recent and unexpected discovery that archaelogical progress in the past 10-years has yet to yield much more. Ancient Astronauts and Chariots of the Gods

I remember reading Erich von Daniken's book, "Chariot Of the Gods" as young kid. I think I was 11 or 12 at the time. I was always intrigued by the stars, archaeology, and the idea that aliens or visitors from other civilizations were here on Earth. It changed my view of the world and I read the book again later as a teenager a second time. I found an article on the Skeptic's Dictionary website which pretty much sums up the idea of ancient astronuants and references von Daniken's book. There is still a lot of controversy and mystery surrounding this hypotheses to this day.

Diamonds and Ancient Technology

I was just reading an article in this morning at USA Today about man-made diamonds which made me thing about the ancients and their technology. I keep wondering that the more we progress as a technological society, the closer we get to the level of the ancients of the last four great civiliations. We are supposed to be the fifth great civiliation. Maybe we are just discovering the knowledge and techniques that the great ancient civiliations (Lemuria or Mu, Osirians, Atlanteans, Rama etc...) already accomplished over 10000 years ago.

Edgar Cayce stated that the Atlanteans used crystals for power and other applications. The Lemurians or the Mu civilization is said to use crystals as storage of their knowledge. It seems that we are just beginning to acquire the knowledge to get the point where these ancients have already been.
